Has Anyone Upgraded an Insight M3 Tactical Light?

I just purchased a couple of the Streamlight TLR-1s models, so I've already "upgraded" in a sense.

However, I still have an Insight M3 Tactical Illuminator which has the older halogen incandescent set-up. I doubt it's resale value is all that great considering the advances in technology since I bought it.

Just wondering if it's possible to upgrade this light to LED with a drop-in. If so, what kind of drop-in would I need?

You'd be surprised as to how much it'll sell for. I just sold a like new Insight M3x on ebay for $230. Replaced it with a current LED technology gun light.

Hmm... there's some chance the box is still around here. If I can find it, maybe I'll just sell the M-3 and pick up another TLR-1s.

I just joined the forums with the intent on asking this very same question but for a similar Insight model; the M2 UTL which is specific to the HK USP.

Based on the similar specs of the M3 and the M2 I'm wondering if the same upgrade kit that Spydermonkey mentioned would work in my M2?

I have the Insight UTL MKII for my H&K USP and am wondering this same question. I will call Insight Technology in the morning.

Bought the UTL and M3 upgrade... the bezel on the M3/M6 and UTL (or M2) are all interchangeable, I dont know why they dont advertise that the M3/M6 upgrade will work with it but it does!

All you usp owners can now have a legit, bright light!!!

total cost just over two hundred.

Small company but have talked with the guy directly, and have never been disappointed.
