Head-torch battery modding

I’m looking for a better head-torch than my Petzl Myo-5 Belt. Short list is:

Princeton Tec EOS (2hrs @ 100% using 3 x AAA = 4.5V)

Nuwai Luxeon 1W (5hrs @ 100% with 2 x 123C = 6V)

Nuwai Luxeon 3W (90mins @ 100% with 2 x 123 = 6V)

I do like my Petzl’s remote battery pack (4 x C), which sits unobtrusively in my back pocket, and extends run-time to 12hrs on Xenon. Atleast two torches on my short list have relatively short run time. However, will I be able to mod the Petzl’s remote battery pack to work with my new torch? I’m not too hot on electrics, but I calculate the Myo-5 belt’s 4 x C’s put out 6V, right? So okay with Nuwai’s, but not EOS, yes? Are there other remote battery packs available? I’v seen remote battery kits for orienteering lights.

Supplementary Q: Also curious as to what kind of bulb the new Myo-XP uses, to get run time to 45hrs at 100% with just 3 AAA batteries?

Use a dummy cell to get 4,5 volts for the EOS.
Make one from dowel and a brass pin glued in the centre.
The MYO batt pack is one of the best there is, and I will soon be buying a few, for other projects I am contemplating. I have a MYO 3.
Lot of work ahead of you, so rather scan this forum for other's ideas and solutions. Use the "search" function at the top...

You would make your mod much easier if you chose a light that already had wires coming out of it to the battery pack. Then you could just put a plug of some kind in line. For a good LS, I think the PT Yukon HL is your best option.

If you don't want to rock the boat with your expensive Myo by parting it out (Petzl Myo and Duo construction does not allow for easy repairs or rewiring), I believe the Zoom Zora and Duo belt models employ the same battery pack. rei-outlet
is clearing the Zoom Zora belt out for $27. It will still cost you some bucks after shipping.

Of course, if you have acess to a sewing machine, a pouch is not hard to make.
