Hi all

A while back i was looking for a head torch for running, and one of my plans was to mount a magicshine style torch to backpack, sadly this completely failed :sssh:

So...

My second option was to buy a Zebralight H6600 and import it from US, but even with free shipping it would cost £76 not including batt+charger, which is too exspencive.

So...

I have seen these being sold on DX , they are Ultrafire so good torches from what i have seen.

Question is, anyone bought one of their headtorchs?(sorry if i not allowed to post links to site, but the full name for these torches is silly long so thought a link be best way to show you what they are..)

They look pretty good, and for the price i could buy one with batt+charger for £40ish, what you think?

I don't recommend the UF-Hxx torches for running. Not enough throw. You need at least a little bit of throw when you're running trails and those UF-Hxx torches hardly provide any. They're okay for walking, but not for running.

tbh i thought they looked and sounded very much like the zebralight, as the zebra has 230ish LM as does the UF H3b torch i linked too....

If that is the case i guess il have to get a "proper" torch ie a ultrafire XML style.

any suggestions for a good small running "torch" then from the many many many versions of the ultrafires?

Reading your other thread, I guess you need a light for an endurance race. I really don't know what light would work for that. I just know that those ZebraLight style UF flood lights won't work. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Have you tried asking around on running forums? Seems to me like runners would have a better idea about what works for a race.

Most runners here in UK just use the off the shelf head torches, but these are very poor tbh and they are silly exspencive.

I been told on another forum that the Ultrafire XML t6 501B is a good little torch to use so might look into getting that,

the zebralight h600 is the |"perfect" one but the cost of it just is silly given what the specs are and what you getting for your money, if it was £40 then maybe...but £75:eek:

There's lot more to a light than just the max output "specs". Size, efficiency, number of and spacing of modes, quality of the beam, ergonomics, interface, and durability also affect the usability of the light.
