HellFighter X-8

Does anyone know if the Hellfighter X-8 can be used with AW's 3.7v protected R123s??

The specs claim that it can run 7.2v in rechargeable mode.

Also does anyone know if the X-8 LA is interchangeable with a P90 LA?

I tried to do this and it fried the bulb in about half a second. Now I am searching for a replacement bulb that will allow the use of these batteries. If any one has any ideas let me know.

Looks like a SF 6P clone. If it is, any 9V D26 LA should work...
