Help, clockwork drives

Can anyone who has modified flashlights with clockwork generators recommend brands with the best drives & generators?

The only clockwork generator I know of is patented by Mr. Bayless (UK). The original series of radios and lantern were from Baygen, which is now Freeplay. Try a google search or go to Sharper Image or ccrane.com as I know those two carried them.

Start cannibalizing alarm-clocks!

I fear you will have to build your own...

Spring steel is readily available, the big challenge is to convert the potential kinetic energy to stored electrical power...

Maybe check out bicycle generators? I've used one with very low drag, so maybe there is an easy solution?
