Hello all, there seems to be some computer savvy folks here soooo...

I'm looking for a way to save files to an internet folder, but make it as easy as saving it to the hard drive therefore skipping the step of using FTP software to upload. Just the usual click on save, but have a secure online folder as an option as well as Drive C,D,E etc...

Any ideas? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Help finding software to upload files to the i

Uh, at the expense of seeming to give a "non-responsive answer" the easiest way I see to do that would be to run OS X as it is an integral part of the OS ...

Re: Help finding software to upload files to the i

I have problems mounting secure FTP servers in X, so I'd have to suggest Transport--an excellent piece of software.

Too bad it won't work on Windows. I like WS_FTP for that. It'll store your settings to it makes connection quick. Still have to run a program though, sorry.

Re: Help finding software to upload files to the i

You can do this with a MAC OSX ???
Whoa that's cool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Help finding software to upload files to the i

The computers doing this will have Win XP.

What I am trying to do is be able to access certain files from several computers at different locations. I figure the easiest way is to upload them to the internet and then download them on the other computer. I know there is software to let you access your computer from another location, but several people and computers will be involved all at different locations.

Any other options?

Re: Help finding software to upload files to the i

If you are sending the files to an FTP server first then retrieve them from it on other computers then try Netdrive. Its a ftp client that allows you to map an internet folder as a drive on your computer and just use drag-n-drop style of retrieving and running files from the internet folder. Very easy to use and the program is free!
