Hello, I salvaged some 18650 cells from a dell 85wh laptop pack and I am trying to identify them. I don't have any pics at this time. They are a light red/dark pink color and are marked KHPFM36. There is also a lone "C" on them. 9 cells to the pack.
3 measured 4.15 V
The other 6 measured in the 3.85-3.95 range.
One of the 4.15V ones, probably the best ones in the pack was damaged during disassembly so it is sitting outside on a concrete apron to be re-recycled. I actually managed to put a hole in the negative contact, scared the heck out of me. Nothing happened, but you probably shouldn't have a ragged metal tear in your battery case, huh?

There is a 6 digit #, but it is different for each cell, so apparently it is some sort of serial#.

The other 4 are in the charger so I didn't bother to pull them. The insulating ring around the positive contact is a light, but bright, aqua color.

I recovered the case, it is labelled:
Type KD476 Capacity 85Wh 11.1V
Made in Japan

Yuck, I got transmission fluid on my desk now from pulling it out of the trash :)

Since I don't have a battery analyzer, for testing I am fulling charging them, checking voltage, letting rest for a couple hours, compare voltage, then driving a 2.4 amp load in a incan wf-500 for a minute, then checking voltage again.

Are those test procedures ok? Any other recomendations?
