I'm not a flashlight collector, and I know absolutely nothing about them, but I won this LED flashlight (image links below) in a contest here on CandlePower Forums about six years ago or so. I don't remember much about it. All I recall is that it was the prototype of a flashlight model that became popular/well known once it went into production. I do remember that I had a few offers from people who wanted it for their collections. I tested it the day it arrived, and then put it in the padded case where it's been since. It probably belongs in a collection instead of the back of my guestroom closet. As you can see from the pics, there are three tubes to power it from different types of batteries (I don't know anything about battery types and such). I think (not positive) it has dual brightness from the push button in the back of the battery cap, or maybe it was selectable by how far you turn the battery cap? I can't remember. It has these neat little glow-in-the-dark inlays that somehow glow but never need to be recharged (six around the main flashlight head, four on the battery cap, and three larger ones on the largest battery tube). I'm probably showing my ignorance with that last sentence. I assume they're there so that the flashlight can be located in the dark. The whole thing looks incredibly well made for a prototype.

Anyway, can anyone identify it? Is it something that a flashlight collector would still be interested in having in their collection? Thanks.

I'd be interested in them.

I tried to PM you but your mailbow is full.

Please send me a PM and maybe we can work out a deal.

I suspect it will be full again in no time.

I thought so too, but I didn't receive a single message. I guess this prototype light is no longer very desirable as a collector's item. Maybe I'll just throw some batteries in it and stick it in my hurricane kit for emergency use, since I recently moved to Florida. Thanks again guys for helping me identify it.
