Hello everybody,
I was wondering if someone could help to identify the negative connection on this driver.
The red line denotes the + connection, which I know. The messy green circle shows where I believe I see the - marking and the black line shows where I think the - wire should be soldered. Anyone know if this is correct? If not, where should the - wire go?

I know, not the best pic. It came out of an inexpensive light. Beamtech 4000, which was driving 3 XML-T6 LEDs with one 18650.
I did not like driving 3 XMLs with one cell so I would like to use this driver somewhere else and rebuild this light with an extension. I think it is a boost driver that puts out 1.9 amps (not very certain about that though). since the LEDs were in series, would that mean it is a voltage boost driver? I unfortunately have no SKU.

Trying to solve a murder with no leads, right? I'll try to get some more info on it. Thanks for replying
 
Are you sure they were in series? Did you measure the voltage drop across the 3 leds while lit?
Only reason I ask is I don't see any sort of inductor. It's only single sided, correct?
It reminds me of the 2 transistor style buck drivers that DX and KD sell such as sku 106799, 106797, 128273 etc. They seem to take the output from one leg of a diode. I dunno, sorry I couldn't be more help. I guess you weren't able to see where the original flashlight tapped into the circuit? If I had to just guess I would say yes, where you have your black line is, is correct. Personally, I would connect it to a couple low ohmage power resistors and try that first before I risked an led. Say anything from 1 to 3.3 ohm at 10 watts. I won't guarantee it won't burn it up, but probably not :)
