Help in led driver Problem

Hi every one i am Khaled from Egypt i think i am the 1st led DIYer in Egypt then Hello fellows,

this is my 1st post in this great Forum i really love candlepowerforums i have been reading so much in it and i have learned alot

my question

I have bought this Driver ( https://www.fasttech.com/products/1124800 ) as you see it can deliver 2500mA well, i connected it to a Cree xml U3, then powered it 1st time with one 18650 battery and with a multimeter it readed only 700mA Current

then i used two 18650 battery in parallel just in case but it is the same 700 mA, then i have connected two xml in parallel and still the same 700mA

so could any one tell am i doing somthing wrong ? or that driver current 2500mA is fake ?

It's a five mode unit. What happens when you put it in the next mode?

Hi > Mid > Lo > Strobe > SOS all my testing was on the high mode

Charge up your batteries and try again. If you have a lab power supply, hook it up to that @ 4.2V.

the driver is only capable of puting 2,5a under perfect conditions, like 4+v input, low vf led.
we don't know how much volts drops on the driver itself.
if you want cheap driver and have around 2,5A get 8xamc7135 driver, but even those for the most part wont give you 2,5A from single cell, you'd need 4xnimh cells, and heatsink the driver, or you will have chips shut off due to heat, assuming your cells can supply the current.

try running yours from 3x D alkaline cells see if it makes the difference.
