I am looking to build a flood light of sorts for my backyard. I am thinking of using like 3-4 xml's at different angles to hit a wide area. It will be mounted about 20' high and the area to be lit is pretty small, maybe 40 yards wide, 15 deep. The only time i have worked with led's was when upgrading a couple of those "tap light's" for my gun safe with the terralux led's that come with the mini maglite tail cap switch. (did not need the led's as the tail switches were going on led mini's) this was just a pop out the crappy bulb and solder the led in its place mod, and i have no idea where to start with the power/circuitry etc... pretty much a noob at this stuff, although I am good with a solder and just making **** work.
Anyway's, anyone have any ideas? Good idea or not? Better off just buying something already made?
I am planning to just piggyback the power with the existing switch that controls two other lights in the backyard.
