Hello all! New to this forum.

I've been "researching" buying a good flashlight for over a week and getting frustrated.

I'm looking for a flashlight w/ the following characteristics....

1. Tailcap 'clickie' (no rotating unless it's for lockout)
2. Directional flood or medium spot. 1 or 3W Luxeon.
3. White "tint" beam, doesn't need to be overly bright.
4. No longer than 6 inches.
5. Either AA,AAA, or 123 batteries.
6. Less than $80.

I've thought about the Inova X5T but its tint is too blueish, the Nuwai QIII but apparently it lacks momentary on. The SL Twin tasks look nice but no tailcap clickie.

I currently own mini-mags and am not happy with them. The only "quality" light I have is a SL 4AA propoly LED. I love this light but it turns out some say it's prone to failure.

I'd really appreciate suggestions. Thanks.

I would consider the Nuwai QIII with the specs that you gave. It is a great little 3W luxeon light that uses a single 123 battery.

There is a mod you can do/have done to make the QIII momentary.

And there is a mod you can do that adds a clickie tailcap to the Twin Task 2L so I'm sure it would work with the Task Light 2L as well.

Streamlight JR. Luxeon sounds like what you need. Also check out the Nuwai Q-III and Streamlight TL-2 LED. The new Task Light 2L Lux III gives you 2 power settings, but lacks a tail switch and momentary on feature.

Thanks for the response. (all).

Where can I find more information on modding a QIII for momentary?

Uhm,

I've got a Pelican M6-LED. 1 watt, uses 2x123 cells, minor adjustability on the beam, very white. I understand a 3 watt is on the way also. I believe I paid about 65 canadian for it .

Worth every penny.
