I´m planning on getting a 1D cutdown Mag, 4-bored.

Got a cammless aluminum reflector (lop) and a kiu heatsink (both incandescent). Besides that I have an UCL lens.

Now I´m looking for a configuration that gives good throw and more than 200 lumens. I can´t spend too much money on it.. any suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

Ps. Using cpf-search gives me the 'fatal memory allocation error' or however it´s called :candle:

Use the google search. The CPF search returns an error (I think) because so many pages have the same words on them that the search can't handle it.

Thanks for the information! The WA 01183 looks like a good setting. I´ll keep looking into it. Too bad the D Li-Ion batteries are so hard to find..

I thought Dealextreme or Kaidomain had a D-cell but i can only find a C-type atm.

I'm looking at a 1D and the WA 1183 setup right now, and wanted to remind anyone that is looking at this thread that Li-ion batteries don't go well with a 4.7V lamp like the WA 1183. The 1D setup would use 4 NiMH batteries for a round a 4.8V drive, just slightly overdriven, maybe not at all after the sag.

If using lithium ion here, a single cell would be underdriving it by a good deal, and 2 would almost definitely be insta-flash.

There are a number of 1D setups that can give a wide range of high outputs, including WA-1111, 1331, 1160, 1164, 1166, 1185, Carley 43W, Philips 5761, ROP high, etc.

Some setups need 2s2p, some 3s, some 4s of various battery types and sizes. It all depends on how bright, how long, with/without regulator, etc.

For a little bit more you could just drop in a malkoff led. I hear they work fine in cut down mags 240LM for 2-3 hrs.
