Help with D cells for quad cree

Hi all

I have a deal pending for a quad malkoff and now I will need to feed it!!

Looking for recommendations on rechargeable D cells preferrably LSD and a good charger (thinking about Maha MH-C808M).

Any advice with brand and pointers on where to go for purchase, would be appreciated.

They are used in my boombox. They have less mAh than the others but take less time to charge because of the LSD characteristics. So far they are working fine, I guess it depends how you are going to use the light (occasionally vs all the time)

About the 808 - as I have said in other posts, I have this unit and so far I am very pleased with it. There is a review of this charger (rather long) but I'll give you my observations:

- very fast charger
- fast (2A) or soft (1A) the batteries will come off cool: using an IR thermometer accupower LSD D's come off at 99 to 101 F (fast)/ AAA's and AA's (eneloops) come off at about 104 F. Its not about the amp rating for the charge its how the microprocessor in the unit uses it!!
- buy from thomas distributing! Not every battery (even under the same name, ie eneloops or accupower) are perfect so I have noticed that one of my accupowers was warmer than the others. Emailed TD about this and without asking they are sending out a replacement. I am impressed.

+1 fpr the accupower d cells from Thomas Dist. and the Maha c-808 charger. I have 6 of these d cells that feed my 2 Elektrolumens P7 conversion mag lights and they work great. I have left these light untouched for several weeks and they light up and run great when I pull them up. The charge is simple and does a great job with the conditioning of cells including my eneloops.
