Hi everyone, I've been using an old Surefire 6p LED at work for the last few years now and it has served me well, although it isn't the greatest in the 'throw' department. Well one of the lads on my shift just got himself an LED Lenser P14 and has been giving me a fair bit of banter about his P14 being considerably brighter than my Surefire and outperforming it over long distances. So what I'm after is an upgrade to knock his P14 out of the ballpark without sacrificing the quality of my Surefire, or being much bigger.

I've just seen the Surefire 'Fury' which is about the same size as my 6P so I shouldn't have to mess about with adjusting my Duty Belt set up and it boasts 500 lumens with good throw (the pro mo stuff describes it as a 'hand held searchlight' or something along those lines). Now I've been researching this for hours but can't find enough on the Fury to compare it with the P14 in regards to throw. Would someone here much wiser than me on the topic of flashlights be able to help me out? It would be very much appreciated (just to get some respite from my colleague's big grinning face)!

Great forum by the way...glad I found it! Thanks in advance,

Barry.

You could buy a Dereelight P60 R2 module with smooth reflector for throw. I still use this in my Surefire 6P, however it has been bored to fit a 18650 for long runtimes on high.
