Help with LitFuse Mod....

Yes he is over here as I type this.I must say that you did some great work.This light is perfect for what I want and is very well done.
The side spill is perfect and I like the throw as it is not too much but very usable.
Also thanks for the spare emitters....I am learning to put them to good use.If anything playing with this modded light just makes me that much more excited about my soon to arrive mod.

Robo, you are gonna be real happy with your mod, I've got a Q3J HD w/fraen from Peter and it is very, very nice!! Someday I may send it back to him for an NX05 optic myself!! I know that my Pelican M6 LED uses a reflector but if you know what this beam looks like then you can see what I am looking for.
Mine has a nice hot spot and a perfect circle of usable corona.If I enter a dark room I can illuminate the center with the hot spot and have a clear view of the entire room.
If I could duplicate this in a smaller package it would be perfect.
The modded light from Chop that I just handled does a great job of this.It reminds me of my friends L4 with just a little less total output and more throw.
I want this mod for work purposes but must admit that I also just wanted it for the cool factor.
I was very happy with the color of the Q3J in Owens L1 and if mine is this nice it will be money well spent and a good investment for duty carry.
I believe that you can never have enough light.I do not know if this is the cop in me or the flashaholic that makes me feel this way.
Waiting is the hardest part but until then I will play with Owens modded KL1.It is really a cool and functional light.

I just got word that my modded LSL is on its way back to me from LitFuse.I am very excited especially after viewing Owens Q3J at 700 mA.
Very fast turn around time by LitFuse as well as great communication.

HOLY SMOKE.....I now have this light in my hands and it is incredible.The difference is like night and day between the stock version I sent to Peter.
I am happy to say that the NX-05 works well for my application.The hot spot on this Q3J is incredible with perfect sidespill from the optic.
I am afraid that I will now compare all other lights to this one and will only end up going broke trying to buy mods to compete.
I never really understood the potential of a quality luxeon driven with a higher current.This mod will be a very valuable tool on my duty belt and I do recommend LitFuse to anyone wanting a great modded light.
Owen is coming by tonight and we are going to compare this mod to his KL1 done by chop.
My first impression is that they are very close but we have yet to actually have them side by side.

I think that going with the Q3J was a smart move. Your light and the KL1 should be pretty close. They're both essentially the same thing wearing different clothes.

The NX05 was a good choice to. The best optic for all around use.

Side by side comparison did find the two lights to be very close.The KL1 seems to have a little better spot with the ARC having a better pattern.It is basically a give and take on both lights.The actual output is almost identical with the run time going to the KL1 due to 2 cells.
ALL in all I am very pleased with this light and it will see much use on duty.
The first night I managed to use up the first cell almost completly as I found many excuses to show it off.
The color between the two is almost identical with the KL1 seeming a tad brighter and the modded ARC having a more cream color.The hot spot on the ARC is very nearly perfect with a smooth transition between the actual hot spot and the corona.
Basically one could not go wrong with either a Chop modded KL1 or a LitFuse modded ARC.
