www.sell.com/2FDFF
i see rave beam makes these little thin gs, but are they
really bright ?
i never hear d of rave beam before

sorry bout the typ'en, I'm in typing class so i"m going
to get better- I hope so anyway.

Jennifer

Welcome Jennifer.
Well, judging from the seller, he is not a very reputable seller here. Sometime back, he made a mess.
anyway, the price is too expensive. You better off with photon 2 with colored leds. the price around half as much and better quality too.
These rave lights (including photon) were bright at their first 5 minutes of runtime and then dimming very fast to around a still acceptable beam of light and keep dimming as the battery depleted until around a few hours.

Welcome aboard,
Jennifer16

I have one of these same "RAVE BEAM" lights with a blue LED. Got it at an ACE Hardware, out of curiosity and because it was cheap. It was $2.99. So that seller you linked is way overpriced. It's small and bright but has a terrible beam and the hole for the keyring is thin and looks fragile.
I second shifd's suggestion. The Photon is much better. They're well made and have a lifetime warranty. Only slightly larger than the RAVE. There are lots of websites that sell them as well as some outdoor equip. stores. I can recommend this site: http://www.vicomptel.com/vlights/CPF.htm
Price is $8.75 plus $0.70 shipping.

But since the light has already been ordered, let us know what you think when you receive the RAVE light.
If you get hooked on lights like most of us here you'll be buying and trying other lights in no time. The ARC AAA LED light is also very popular at CPF, so be sure to search the threads on CPF for it. Currently it is available only with white and turquoise LED's.

Welcome Jennifer,

Next will come the Arc AAA, the Surefire E2e, then a KL1 for it, then an Arc LS, Then you'll be modding MiniMags with Luxeon Stars, then you'll have to have an M6, then........

Hey Jennifer, Welcome to CPF!

I just joined not to long ago, too. What tvodvd said is almost exactly right. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I do recomend the photon also. It is a great light, and runs on the same batteries as the rave beam. Another small LED light would be the inova microlight. It is very bright (brighter than my photon) but does have a kind of ringy beam. You can get white at http://www.countycomm.com/light2.htm for a great price, but they do come in other colors. If you are interested I think I have a pictue comparing the photon and inova beams around here somewhere...

and Thank You All for talk'en to me, im off tomarrow so i can type again in the Morning..

Jennifer

Ordinary led also able to be focused using reflector as the led is not only throw forward beam, but also side spill. This side beam is the one used by the reflector. If focused correctly, the beam will looks like an ordinary incandescent, but with a much dimmer light from an ordinary led (not luxeon)

Hey Jennifer, here's a selection of keychain LED lights, though the Photon prices are not very good:

http://pocketlights.com/keychainlights.asp

As you can see, the smallest ones are the Boker and the Tag light (the Tag is the last one on the page). Keep in mind that all these lights will be pretty bright when you first start using them and then get dimmer and dimmer. They say "battery life 16 hours" but by then it will be dimmer than a firefly!

If you want a longer lasting light (but bigger), I second the recommendation of an Arc AAA.

>>are you for real

My bet is someone is playing with us. Can't type yet can post hyper-links to other websites. Give me a break. Claims to be taking a typing course, yet spells it "typ'en." Yup, someone is playing with us.

That light that good ol' Jennifer links us to looks exactly like one I got the other day at the dollar store.

I'm back
