HID ideas

I got this setup from a hid headlight assembly. Any one have any ideas what I could do with it? It all still works, runs on 12v.

well, my 1st thought would be .... make a spot light outa it!

find/make a reflector for it. Something like a salad bowl for cheap comes to mind.

Also, that aspheric has uses too, I'm sure you know. It's not the clearest, but it will still get the job done, and give you some spill to boot!

If thats an elliptical reflector, and you can easily remove the mechanism that provides the cutoff in the beam, and refocus it to an actual focus, it could be a nice spotlight.

What CKOD said. Remove the thing that cuts off the beam and focus the lens to make it into an awesome spotlight. Could get a 12volt SLA battery to power it and make an aluminium body to contain the whole assembly.

not an elliptical reflector. You need to get your own reflector.
