hey guy's , I'm in need of some sources to purchase hid parts to build a dive light. can u help??

UR crazy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif, although messing around with lights is often as fun as using them. The UK dive lights are already pretty cheap, so I think you would have a hard time buying parts and doing it for less. Then again, if you are going after a 35-50 watt HID dive light, then that sounds like fun. Welch Allyn sells the 10 watt HIDs.

I'm working on a few dive light projects myself. HID is one of them. I've yet to find a cheap source for bulb and ballast. The best I've seen is about $130.00 by the time you add tax or shipping or whatever. You would think prices would be coming down with the increased use, but Welch Allyn raised prices recently. Some of the Chinese imports show promise, but they don't have any decent distribution yet. I'll keep looking till something cost effective turns up.

There are different form factors to consider for different diving activities. UK's is affordable by HID standards, but has it's drawbacks and limitations.
