High-Drain capable Protected RCR123's

Hello there!

I am looking for inexpensive RCR123's for use with my high drain Crelant 7G5 V2. It's supposed to run with either 1x18650 or 2x18650, but i have noticed they can punch full power even with just two RCR123's but i am sure the drain is quite high as the output is the same as it would be running off two 18650's.

I've tried unprotected ones and some protected trustfires but these get hot to the touch after a few minutes of use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know the AW's can kick it, but I was hoping to find a better value-oriented brand (but with decent quality)

IMRs aren't protected ... I assume roadkill absolutely requires overdischarge protection, or some other reason for a protection circuit?

he probably mainly wants overcurrent protection. With higher voltages, the switching driver (Pin~=Pout) doesn't need to pull as much current from the cells. With single-cell voltages, it needs to increase the current draw to keep outputting the same power.
