 Hi Guys,

I would like to know from your experence the highest capacity 123A primary lithuim cells availble, but also don't want to take a chance on lesser quaility lithium cells, (chinese brands). I understand that some american company brands are 1500mAh, is that the highest capacity?

As VegasF6 said, it depends on the current draw.

Several months ago I went through SilverFox's CR123 test data and posted a summary plot. You can find that plot in this thread.

What you will see very clearly when you look at this plot is cells that perform best at low discharge currents tend to perform worst at high discharge currents, and vica versa. There is also a "cross-over" point at about 1.4 amps where all of the different brands perform relatively equivalent (within about 10%). At low currents (<1.4 amps), the Sanyo is the best performer, and at high currents (>1.4 amps), the Tenergy seems to come out ahead.

So you really need to know the current draw of your flashlight in order to pick the right brand.

Cheers,
BG
