Highest lumen output flashlight?

Hi all,

I've only been back into flashlights for a few weeks. I used to frequent this place about 10 years ago, but the bug has bit again ... :)

I've had a quick look, but can anyone point me in the direction of the 'highest output' flashlight out there, either something someones making on here, or wherever to be honest.

I'm dying to see it!

Its just that its one of those threads where no one knows where to draw the line as to what you mean. There are flashlights, and there are flashlights...so, are we saying what the highest lumen short arc, HID, LED, Incan, etc...and what are the size constraints?

Is a Polarion a flashlight?

What about a HH Short arc system?

etc.


Also, lumens are only one aspect/attribute of a light...things like the cd, etc, come into play as well.



Maybe you could narrow it down?

its not bright in terms of lumens out the front, but it throws them in a needle like beam that is fun to play with
they are a bit pricey though, there was one going over on the Marketplace for 850USD (plus maybe 100 -150 shipping to OZ) and you will have the best long range light.
(this would be the Handheld short arc system TEEJ is talking about)
Heres mine reaching out a kilometre

I haven't really kept up with the advances in Led flashlights, my floody 1000 lumen moddoo dropin in a surefire 9P is enough for me, and is probably 2 years old, I think Oveready have a newer version that does 1500 lumens now

$850 for a Maxabeam is an amazing price - the kit being sold (2 battery's, 2 chargers and the light in a pelican case) would cost around $5000 new.

I had a Supernova years ago which was a copy of the Maxabeam if I'm not mistaken. My avatar was done with it!



Great fun indeed, but TBH I'm more looking for something that simply chucks a heap of lumens out the front. Burns paper, browns marshmallows and stuff like my USL used to!

Data's Databank70 threw a bucketload of lumens - you can't buy one, but foursevens did a similar one, which I believe can be bought - something like 18000 lumens (from memory)

Where is this Lux-RC Fatboy? It's like Big Foot. Who has one? Who has posted about theirs? Where can you buy it? All i found was a go nowhere website with a few pics of it. Amazing how little it's been mentioned I started a thread about it months ago and very few people cared
