I have a bunch of 8AA holders but I needed one AA more to run the WA1185 at sweet specs. I could remove the spring of the 2D mag and fit (in addition to the 8AA holder) a 1/3D 2500mAh NiMH and solder a little spring in the tail...but I didn't. Instead I bought a 3D mag, drilled a hole in a dowel, epoxied a washer on the end. Used electrical tape so it wouldn't look like total crap, dropped in another AA and POW! 9AA/WA1185 M*G!
If I were to sell this light, I know people would say, "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT PIECE OF WOOD DOING IN THERE?!?!"
