I'm wanting to mount a classic Surefire G2 to my shotgun using a simple scope ring.

My question is - is the G2 truly a 1 inch diameter light? Or is it more of a 30mm in diameter?

I don't have any calipers to measure.

Also...I'm wanting to install a single stage drop in. About 200 lumens Max. Who makes a good one?

Thanks in advance. :grin2:

I'm assuming you already own an incan. Surefire G2? If not then skip the drop in and buy a surefire g2x pro or tactical.

according to Google's calculator function, 30mm is 1.1811 inches, so maybe most gun mounts are tolerant of that difference?

Most are not that tolerant.

And you want a weapon light, as recoil, etc, can hammer other lights to pieces...not to mention getting whacked as you leap through windows, etc.

:D

It's 1" nominal. I just measured one at 1.026" at its widest point on the body.

As far as the drop-in is concerned, it's Malkoff all the way. One of the M61L (or M61LL) versions should get you around 200 lumens OTF.
