How bright is a regular Stinger?

I've read the reviews on the Stinger but just how bright and how much throw does it have compared to some other lights? How would it compare to a 3D mag with xenon, 2C mag running on 3 123 batts, surefire e2e, or G2? Since I asked about the rechargeables the other day my needs have changed slightly. I'm going to be traveling in a motorhome for 2 or 3 months and light around that size might be just what I need to keep mounted in there if it's bright enough. John

Comparable to G2, maybe a little bit less powerful. Way ahead of 3D Mag. There's also a Stinger HP, same total brightness but bigger reflector for narrower beam and more throw. Also the Ultrastinger which is bigger all around, more batteries, more powerful, lots of throw.

I would say it is just a bit brighter than a P60 lamp.

Get the Stinger, I prefer PolyStinger, mount it, and forget it till you need it.

With fresh cells, I'd say my G2 is a little brighter than my poly Stinger. But I think the Stinger maintains it's brightness level better than the G2. The 2C with 3x123 and KPR112 is brighter still, but you need to have a good supply of bulbs handy for extended use.

I think it comes down to how often the light will be used. 'Feeding time' for the 123 devices is pretty expensive, where as the Stinger will cost only pennies to charge up. If you expect to run the light a couple of minutes each day, the 2C mod is pretty cost effective. If you think the light will be used 10 minutes or more every day, I feel the Stinger would be an ideal solution.

Please consider the Stinger XTHP. Much more output than regular Stinger, about the same size, w/bigger refector.

It's a real workhorse, suitable for service duty work. Tough enough for daily use by proffesionals.

I keep one charging in its' base at all times. But it's seen almost no duty since I got my LSHP.

I had a StingerHP on the hump in my Pickup for some time. I was never very happy with the beam, resorting to Writeright to clean it up.

I traded it off for a Regular Stinger. It makes an EXCELLENT beam! Of course the HP throws farther. No question of that. But the Regular Stinger makes a Surefire type beam which I find 100% more usefull than a tight spot.

It sits in a slow charger all the time, and is ready when I need it.

Oh yeah, the head on the Stinger seams even tougher than that on the HP.

Based upon MY experience... get the Stinger (or Poly Stinger).

I've been using 2 regular Stingers at work on a daily basis for almost 9 years. One stays ready in the slow charging clamp. In their 7th year I finally needed to replace their batteries. It throws a bit further than my FT3C on new alkalines and has great side spill. No failures with either unit.
My ultra Stinger is too bright for close work but can throw about 30%-40% further than the regular Stinger. It's purpose is for primary defense. Both lights use the same charging clamps.

The Stinger smokes the G2 and other lights with P60, and the E2's MN03. It isn't even close. Stinger in the middle, P60 on the left, MN03 on right.
