i just bought one for $6. It is pretty well made and the two angles work well. What I love most is that it simplifies what I bring with me in my outdoor activities. My hand held light now becomes a headlamp. This thing is great.

It sure beats the Niteize one. However, after using one, I find that I prefer a good dedicated (real) headlight. The two angles are limiting and with shorter lights it causes glare. It also doesn't balance well on the head as all the weight ends up on one side. It's fine for in camp when you aren't moving around a lot, but for hiking, it's not worth using. For hiking, the glare messes up your nightvision, you have to adjust your head and eyes to get the light where you need it (this is a pain when traveling fast), and the poor balance of the setup makes it need constant readjustment. For in camp though or as a backup for a headlight, it does it's job well. It works great with a Fenix EO1. It seems that the smaller and lighter the flashlight, the less balance problem it has. However, smaller flashlights cause more glare. You have to pick which one is more important to you when using a Jakstrap:balance, or lack of glare.

I can't use one.

I wear glasses and a light on the side of my head just blasts the spill light into the back of my glasses and I can't see sh*t. I guess if the light was a foot long or just a tight thrower it would work but I like flood and a light that long on my head is pretty awkward. Maybe after that laser eye surgery I have planned for 1015................:D You know, after the end of the world. LOL!

I think the jakstrap is good. It does need some adjustment to cut down on the glare but works well for a backup. I have a little kit that includes the following:

1. Fenix E01 with yellow paracord loop.
2. Jakstrap.
3. Crazy Glue cover for diffuser.

This way I have an area light for camp, backup headlamp and flashlight all for a few ounces. The last time I used the Jakstrap was on a 20 mile hike a few weeks ago. Took a bandanna sponge bath in the woods. Used the jakstrap around a tree to light up the small patch of woods for hands free/headlamp free illumination tool. This time used the S2 on high but the E01 would have worked the same. Nice to dump water on my head without a headlamp in the way. I have used the E01/Jakstrap combo in my Tipi when the cold killed the batteries in the EOS. It works well but not something that I would consider for a primary headlamp for my applications.
