They make rechargeable 6 volt lantern batteries with about a 4.5 - 5.0 Ahr rating. One D rechargeable lists at 10000 mAh - that's 10 Ahrs by my math. If I put (5) D rechargeables in series to get a true 6 volts, how many Ahr is it? Thanks

If cells are in series, the voltage adds, and the AH rating stay the same, if they are paralleled then the AH rating adds, and the voltage stays the same. break series/parallel strings down to groups.

5S 10AH cells would be 6.0v nominal, 10AH.
