I picked up some Cree 60w A19 equivalent bulbs to try out. They are in a fixture above my bathroom mirror. There is a noticable hum even though they aren't on a dimmer. Is this normal even on a circuit without a dimmer?
I have more than thirty 40W equivalents and never heard a peep from any of them. How many in your fixture do this? Do you think the fixture amplifies it?
I only have four of the Cree A19s. (Three 60w equiv, and one 40w equiv.) All are quiet. Suggest trying yours one at a time to isolate the bad one(s) and getting them replaced at HD. HD is very good about such things. I once had a Ecosmart/LSG A19 that rang, and they replaced it no prob.
I have a few of the 60 watt 2700K and 5000K Cree bulbs.
Two of the 2700Ks and two of the 5000Ks. Have a very small hum that you almost have to put your ear on the bulb to hear. The rest are completely quiet. While on a direct lamp connection to the AC Outlet. No dimmers involved.
