Hello all, first post here!
I currently have a Surefire 660 weapon light with an amber gel filter for hunting beaver. North Dakota allows a light with a red or amber filter and an aggregate voltage no greater than 6 volts. That how I ended up with the 660.
Unfortunately I haven't actually had time to go hunting and test things, so I don't know if what I have is sufficient. That said, I am thinking more is better.
I have been looking for a LED replacement for my light and am absolutely floored by the options available. I know for sure I need good throw as I am likely to be shooting across a small stream. I need a lot of power as the gel filter definitely diminishes the amount of light going down range.
I found the Solarforce M3s on eBay, and it seems to be the right choice to my inexperienced self. But I can't find for the life of me if it will fit a 660.
So, I guess I am wondering, is that LED head going to mount to my 660 and is it going to be the right light for me?
I am wide open to suggestions as well. I would like to try and use what I have as I already have it and would rather not need a new weapon mount and pressure switch etc.
Thanks all! Looking forward to the input from this place of great knowledge!!
