This one looks REALLY interesting.
But just one question: If it is supposed to replace the CCHIPO, it should be able to provide 45W output, too, right?
How much cooling is then required? The backside contacts, and the frontside does not look level enough to put a heatsink on the transistor...

If, in the name of science, someone wanted to drive seven XP-G's at 1.5 amps, off 12 Eneloops in series, is it possible to mod the board for this? :devil:

Certainly possible, R6 // R7 are the paralleled current sense resistors (that are 0.15ohm each 0805 size).

The max output current can be raised by changing these resistors.

Current = 0.1 / Rsense

Rsense = R6 // R7

So, to get 1.5A max out you need Rsense of 0.1/1.5 = 0.067 ohms.

So, off the shelf 2 x 0.12 ohm sense resistors in place of the existing 0.15 ohm resistors would do it.

You just need to keep input current below 5A which would be very easy in the case of 12 eneloops and 7 xpg's
