Hyperlux-V or Surefire L5 ?

I'm trying to get a handle on what to get.

I have an L4 and I love it, wouldn't mind more throw so was
considering the L5. But for $50 less or so I could get a Hyperlux-5
from Tnc.

I have the floowing questions:

How does the L5 beam compare to the Hyperlux?

Does the Hyperlux start to dim more or less right away, like
the first 5 minutes because it's not regulated?

Lithium 123s discharge pretty flat in that the voltage does not sag much until the cells are almost dead. Three 123s and a five watt Luxeon are a good match. HyperLux V has decent throw but I don't own the L4 or L5 so can't compare.
