...with a flashlight obsession! WHEEW
I have lurked long enough….
My name is Luke and I have been reading this forum for 3 months +/-
Before I found this place, I thought I was one in a million with a flashlight "problem." ALL of my friends think I am nuts for having an obsession with flashlights of all things. Well – it doesn't stop with lights, I own 30 +/- guns, 100+ knives, ride motorcycles (own 3), born and raised in Georgia and even though all of my buddies think I am crazy, they all love to use MY LIGHT when we are camping or at any other activity that would require the use of a GOOD light.
Some of you guys are absolutely NUTS! I love browsing through the pics of lights in frames, china cabinets and all other display cases imaginable. The intelligence of this place is borderline intimidating. But, do not worry – CPF is known by many. A recent personal example was the purchase of my most recent light from 4Sevens (they are located practically in my backyard). "Glad you found us, CPF is a great place for information on some of the best lights available in the world!"
Enough about me and on to my modest collection (there are more – only listing the better ones)…
From left to right…
SureFire 6P Defender with 120 Lumen INCAN bulb (optional upgrade). This was a recent gift I received. Great light but the 120 lumen mod eats batteries. I will probably put the 80 Lumen bulb back in it. Price = $80 + $30 = $110
Streamlight Scorpion INCAN. I bought this light years ago and it still works perfectly. Very comparable to the SureFire 6P at less than half the price.
LED Lenser. 140 Lumen LED light purchased from Home Depot. Uses 3 triple AAA's and was an "impulse" buy. I have been very impressed with this light comparing it to other more popular brands. And it only cost $40
Nitecore D10. Purchased after reading many reviews and opinions from this place. It is a very unique light and puts out a lot of light on a single AA. Not bad when you consider it's size, popularity of its power source and innovation in design, but I still like the LED Lenser MORE! ~$55
Last – Fenix P1D. Awesome little light! 1 CR123 and wow @ the functions. The strobe function is mind numbing. I have also mastered "one-hand" use. Screw the head in just enough to not make contact and by putting enough pressure on it, you can operate/jump through the multiple outputs quite easily. ~$50
Anyways – I hope to continue reading some excellent reviews, ratings and opinions on flashlights. I also hope to contribute some useful information to you guys as I have benefited from your contributions. Next light on the "to buy" list is a Eagle-Tac T10C2. I'll be sure to write a review…..
Thanks for letting me be a part of this place.
PS – Merry Christmas to all! I hope you all get excellent light in your stockings….
