I polished my Ti Arc AAA.

So, I figured I'd take some candy pics of it before, incomprehensibly, casting it back down to the heathens and sodomites in the depths of my tool pocket. :green:

Why would I do such a thing, you ask? Well, this will probably only make sense to me, but I don't mind scuffing on titanium -- what bugs me is the strange patterns that occur when scuffing and machining lines mix. So I polished off all the machining lines, and this is what I found:

Not bad I say, not bad.

In case anyone wants to do the same, the process I used was:

1. Directional sanding with 400-grit emory paper;
2. Directional sanding with 800-grit emory paper;
3. Orbital sanding with 1500-grit emory paper;
4. 3 directional passes with a cotton Dremel buffer and the red polish that comes with it;
5. 3 orbital passes with a hand clotch and MAAS metal polish.

It worked pretty well, at least on something as smooth as this.

Tonight, I polished my AAA Photon Fanatic Killer, all by hand.

1. Scotch Brite for the big marks.

2. 800 Grit 3m Sand Paper

3. 2000 Grit 3M Sand Paper

4. Small amount of metal polish

Looks as good as my spare AAA Killer, that has never been used in my safe.

All by hand, no power tools. Total time 15 minutes.

I like the Idea this can be restored to original finish without much work.
