Recently my girlfriends's father gave me some Sexauer Valve Stem Lubricant. This is a beige grease. He said he always used this on o-rings with great results and he had two of these. With what I have, it looks like I have a supply for many years. I tried it on a few lights (SureFire E2L (this one lacked some lubrification on o-rings) - L0D-CE, L2D-CE, L2T), threads and o-rings, and they are smoother than ever! Has anyone ever seen this grease?

J. A. Sexauer is a company founded in 1921 and is mainly associated with plumbing and maintenance products. I have never seen any of their valve stem grease....

I have something that seems to be similar (Mil-G 10924 C grease) that is for valves, stems and also as a plumber's grease. Looking up under Mil. Spec, I find that it is also artillery and gear grease. Doesn't mention if it is petroleum based which I believe is not good for o-rings?

Not sure if it is petroleum based! My L0D-CE o-rings are known to swell with petroleum based lube (I killed 1 like this) and no problem with this grease...

Does this mean that this 10924-C grease is OK for o-rings or the above Sexauer? Thanks.
