I want to mod my 1 AAA dorcy, any good ideas for the optical fish eye lens?

I learned that the optical fish eye lens reduces the output of the led so I was thinking I could mod it so it does a better job being I have my Fenix L2S as my primary led light.

you could try replacing the aspheric optic with a glass lens. If the transmission loss of the glass is less than that of the plastic fish-eye, you could gain some Lumens. Nichia emitters are pretty floody by themselves. The aspheric "moon-beam" lights I own waste a GOOD portion of side-emitted light inside the head. The light that emits from the optic are only those light waves that are emitted onto it from the emitter. If you could find a way to re-direct those side-emitted light waves forward that (combined with a more efficient lens) would help brighten things further.

You can probably also switch in a Nichia DS or GS for more output.

I had a old 1st gen that I stuck a green led on then put the head w fish eye lens from another light on it,seems brighter to me.
