Ideas for my 1D curdown Mag

I have a cutdown 1D Mag body sitting around. Can someone recommend an idea of something kind of easy to do with it? Are the any drop ins that will run off a single D cell? Should I get a 3AA adapter and use a 3.6V drop in? Would like something very useable...not simply WOW factor.

Easy is kind of relative. I'd put an XML in it with a 7135-based driver for three modes, LMH and run it off a Novae 32650. I have three 1D Mags just like this.

You could use the 3AA adapter with a Malkoff XML Dropin and Eneloops, runtime would be less though

Or, You could go to a thrift store and buy one for cheap and then you'd have one with INFINITE possibilities
Unless you want a single cell only.
You could even buy a Modded mag from the Artistè's at CPF :D
