A couple of years ago I picked up a flashlight at the local gun show. The guy who sold it to me said it was a Cree. I had no idea what that was or, what I was buying. But, it was bright enough to throw a very discernible spot on the opposite wall of the exhibition hall in high ambient light.
After getting it home, I almost immediately wished I had purchased a couple more at the $35.00 price. Especially after having demonstrated it to my LAPD neighbor who said it was brighter than the Pelican he was issued. He was particularly impressed that my light was powered by plain old alkaline (3xAA).
I have been back to the same gun show several time and have not found the same vendor nor, any light that is even close. So, I have resigned myself to finding something similar. But, I have scoured DX and QCD to no positive end. A 3xAA body simply eludes me.
The body has no markings or, labeling. I have removed the emitter in hopes of identifying it but, it is only marked as CREE on the LED side and H2213 on the green circuit board of the reverse side.
Any ideas?
