What do you think?

The flashlight uses halogen bulb ( 5V, 1,25 A) and just 4 AAs !!!. Probably the output could be higher than 100 lumens !!! I wonder if AAs can deliver 1,25 A ???

I have the 6 cell version. Ikelites are very bright with a tight focus and absolutley horrible beam quality. This would be a nice light if the reflector could be "sputterd" or replaced with something better. But the head on this series is glued together and the reflector can not be replaced or modified.

You also have to be careful about using them for extended runs out of water, as many of their models will melt. Not sure if the 4 cell PCm falls into this category, but the 6 cell PCa deffinitely does (speaking from experience).

And you can get them from Leisurepro for less.

But if you want a nice 4 AA dive light, I'd recommend the PT40 with a Mag Xenon Star lamp.

The PT40 is also available at Leisurpeo, as well as BrightGuy (and you can get the Mag Xenon lamp from BrightGuy as well).

I have purchased a lot from both of these dealers and have nothing but good things to say about them.

Same here. I use it frequently for diving and it's extremely bright. Too bad for the beam quality, although it doesn't really matter underwater...

I think it matters a lot, especially under water.

When I illuminate something I want to see details, and if the flashlight casts a bunch of shadows and projected images it interferes with the details. Is that a hole in the reef, or a shadow from my crappy beam?

Aloha, iG
