I am still a beginner in the incan area, and have read about the massive surge of current which occurs when a high power incan bulb is turned on. There is a board sold by (Willey Hunt ?) which is able to help manage this surge to controllable levels, along with other neat features.
I was curious - if the goal was primarily to manage this "surge current", it would seem like this could be accomplished by putting a small inductor in line with the battery pack and lamp. I am not an EE, but my initial estimate was that > 50 % reduction in peak values would be accomplished very easily.
Could someone who has experience in this area please comment?
