Infrared spotlight?

Hey guys a friend has been watching me become more and more of a flashaholic and asked me if anybody has or knows how to make an IR spotlight/driving lights. Hes mainly looking at mounting a night vision camera in his bumper and running it to his in dash LCD and possibly putting IR spotlights or making a bulb to go in his fog lights or something of the sort.

I believe most militaries have IR spotlights mounted to armored vehicles.

Does your friend plan on driving by watching a TV screen, using his fancy-dancy IR light and camera? That's a great way to:
A) get arrested
B) get in a wreck (not much depth perception, y'know)
C) All of the above

Bad idea all around. IMO.

Plus, I don't know how well IR works in fog. Anyone else?
