i'm thinking of getting a mod to drop in, but i want it brighter than the arc aaa or infinity ultra. is this possible without spending alot?

You will find that many LED light fans here swear by the ARC AAA. It is tiny but many consider it to be a necessity. Let me see if I can answer your question though.

I don't have one but some members really like the Opalec. It is not very bright but runs a very long time and will operate on AA's that have been worn out by other flashlights. Here is opalec's site

Several members like the InReTech drop in AA mod. A few people use lithiums in them. I don't own one either but I support their efforts. They may even chime in here as they are highly knowledgable members of CPF and have taken the extraordinary step to debut their lights here. My advice is to hear what the members that own them say and give InReTech a day or two to find this thread and explain their products. You can find them here:

I'm a little concerned for you now, tkl. ARC AAA, AA mods, Tigerlights? You might be a flashaholic if you spend more than $200.00 on torches in one week. I'm interested to see what you get your dear ol' dad. He may have to "borrow" one of your Tigerlights. I'm sure you may have borrowed a few things from him from time to time. icebrak, yeah i've been spending alot of time here lately. i'm starting to think i need one of everything.

i'll see my dad again at christmas and i'll have my tigerlight this time. when it gets dark out we're going outside for a little demonstration. if pops doesn't appreciate it i know my brother will.
