I can't get to CPF very often, so I'd better tell you quickly! Yesterday I bought a new X-1. I *almost didn't. The first one I looked at had a weak beam and "artifacts" in it too. However, the second one! Wow! I shined it on my dark bedroom wall last night and it kinda hurt my eyes. (I'm a bit photosensitive due to bacterial Spinal Meningitis. [5 times due to a cracked skull.] Sucks.) Anyway, the focused beam looked like "a full moon" on my wall. I love this light! I wonder if it's OK to put a lithium battery in it. (One double "A".) What do you think? Anybody else have one of the new X-1's yet? I live 10 minutes away from "One Stop Knive Shop" & I just drove over & picked it up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Oh, I also wonder if the exposed & coated glass lens could get scratched by a key or something else in my pocket?

I got two of them (yesterday)from a CPF member. ONe has artifiacts in the beam. The other one has a very pretty beam. I have already tested one & found out it will replace my E1 as a light to check streetsigns at night. It works very well. I am very happy with my purchase. I think one is going to join my EDC list.
