Looks like a lighted fishing bobber I bought at K-Mart a year or two back.

Kind of pricey. They show it for bike riders, it doesn't seem bright enough for that application.

Does indeed seem expensive, just saw it, er, advertised on a newsgroup,the `hey I just found this neat light` type post.

Some of the detail is missing on the site as well, how many LEDs does it actually use, and what are the switching options?

Some mention is made of auto function in 20` water but not a lot about depth ratings.

Nice idea but wondered how it stacked up against the Glotoob which would appear to be nearest comparable.

Just looking at the picture of it on the website, it looks like an Electralume fishing light. The Electralume has two diffused case LEDs in it, and uses two AA cells (lithium L91s are preferable) for power.

I have this light on my website right here if you're interested.

(Edit) If you go to the Insite-Light website and then click "Specifications", the graph that says "Lower Operating Costs" *does* say "Electralumes" on it.
So my initial suspicion was correct; that these are Electralumes being sold on a site other than Lindgren-Pitman's; and being sold for purposes other than deep sea longline fishing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Let me say that so far, my impression is that this is one durable little marker beacon/emergency light. Tough as nails, rediculously waterproof, and incredibly simple and reliable in design. A little larger than I expected. Not quite as bright as I would like for use as a tent light, but it would serve well enough for seeing what you're doing (but not reading unless you held it close to the page).
