Had the pleasure of accompanying my daughter to a local performance of "Sesame Street Live" last weekend. Among other overpriced extras was this flashlight. I didn't buy her a $5 balloon, but I did break down and purchase this. Also, if anyone has young children, they will definitely enjoy this show! But bring some extra cash for an Elmolight!

So Elmo sits atop a frosted tube with some diffraction grating rainbow stuff in it and lights up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Since the beam shines up into Elmo there isn't much I can do for a beamshot... But he glows nicely when lit from underneath! Takes 2AA's and she throughly enjoys it. I've had to fill it with rechargeable for her. She knows how to turn flashlights on and off, but doesn't yet have any sense of urgency to turn them off when she's done playing with them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Oh wow! My little 2 year old brother would kill for something like that. I'd rather let him play with this than a laser...

Hmm,

Replace the tube with thick-walled polycarbonate and throw a lead ring in the star covered tuffet Elmo's sitting on and you'd have the world's funniest looking "force" light baton. The perp would be laughing himself senseless as he was getting beaten silly...or maybe the other way around. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

While an EverLED would easily fit in the business end of this device I haven't tested it there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

For a mod, I'm considering a small HID in the base illuminating some side emitting fiber optic cable to light the tube... That way separating the heat of the arc lamp from the delecate plastic elmo at the top /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It really has no "beam" since Elmo sits at the top. So I can't take any beamshots, sorry!

I remember when the "Tickle-Me-Elmo" dolls were the craze, one of the local radio stations took it and drove over it with their hummer and it just said "stop that - it tickles"
