I have several questions and, as far as I know, all have been answered in previous threads. However, in many cases I have not been able to find the answer or, worse, the answers have been contradictory.
I have been considering buying the 30 mw laser from dealextreme.com. However, I am not sure what kind of eye protection I need for various uses. Obviously I need something for indoor use, but if I use the laser outdoors then what do I need? Surely there's not a danger from reflections when using a 30 mw laser in the woods, right? Also, it has come to my attention that the dealextreme lasers do not have IR filters. Is it true that the IR does not collimate well and is therefore not especially hazardous beyond extremely close range? Do I need to find glasses that block IR light or will glasses that block 532 nm light be sufficient for indoor use? I am considering the dewalt glasses. I am told that these block 532 nm, but do they also block IR? I have actually heard conflicting reports on this, so please let me know. Sorry for asking so many questions in one post.
