Two knives I've had for many years, my Schrade Cliphanger & Western sheath knife.
Originally I think I paid $22, for the Schrade... between '95-'96. I still carry the same one, granted I don't abuse it aggressively, but it's been my EDC since I brought it home. What sold me was the clip, I loop webbing through the split ring and over my belt, and hook the clip to the closest belt loop over the pocket. What I don't like about it is the riveted construction, and the linerlock is set into the zytel scales which make up the frame of the knife. As far as Imperial Schrade is concerned, their warranty service is excellent. I purchased another Viper CH7 and 3 Mini cliphanger knives without clips off E-bay, and they sent me new clip assemblies for free. They were also very prompt to replace my brother's Viper when the rivet loosened up.
I've had my Western since '93-'94, and I've been very happy with this $20 knife. I think you can still buy them at Walmart. I took mine camping and wore it whenever I could get away with carrying a sheath knife, and never had a problem. This past summer I did notice the handle had loosened up, the leather washers in the handle had shrunk/dried out (despite my efforts to keep it oiled), so I called Camillus. They replaced it promplty with a new knife and sheath, free of charge. Normally I'd be ecstatic, but I was a bit sentimental to the original my father gave me. I can't technically say it's the same knife anymore.
Otherwise I've been very happy with the pair. I've been giving some thought to carrying more serious hardware, but I haven't been that eager to separate myself from so much cash, especially since they're both still in good service.
