Is there such light with instant turbo toggle switch?

Is there a light with a UI that has an instant turbo toggle switch? which when turned off, goes back to the last 'daily' mode you were in?
-- essentially it will have these switches --
1. OFF/ON rear tailcap to turn-off the light or toggle thru the modes
2. Instant TURBO/HIGH that would override the above mode but would return it back when disengaged.


I have a Klarus XT2C and loves the dedicated STROBE tail button, while the main tail bottom does the mode cycling. However, it has no mode memory, and always defaults to HIGH from a OFF mode.

I recently got a Nitecore MT26 which has two modes by loosening the head/bezel. TURBO mode is accessed by tightening the head, while the normal/daily mode is accessed by loosening the head and cycling the tail switch. I'm not comfortable with the loosening the head. I believe Eagletac G/D25 also have similar UI.

The magnetic ring control would come close to my idea of instant turbo/high, but returning it to its previous mode would require fine motor skills or human memory. I'm talking abour Sunwayman M/V11R series, Jetbeam RRT, and Nitecore Infilux.

I can't give you a recommendation on a light with that feature as a dedicated mode, however I routinely use several lights in that way. E.g.: any light that allows access to turbo by twisting the head tight will allow you to twist it just short of activating turbo, then by merely flexing the head with your thumb or palm by side loading it slightly, it will give you a momentary turbo...then release to return to the last mode.

This works with several Thrunite, EagleTac, and Fenix series lights and probably many others. The only requirement for this to work is (A) a twist head design to activate turbo and (B) a memory so that when you release the head it will resume the last mode you were using, otherwise it will default to low or high depending on the light's normal start mode.

ThruNite Scorpion has a magnetic control tailcap that rotates to five different positions;

1. Lockout
2. Programmed output (anywhere from 9~89%)
3. Moonlight
4. Momentary strobe
5. Momentary maximum

You can program the second mode to your desired output, so that it can be accessed later.

You can have the light running on programmed output by rotating the control ring to the second position. While the light is running, you can move the ring to the forth position and the light will not change mode until the button is pressed again, which gives you the ability to plan ahead and have the strobe mode ready to go. Or, you can have the moonlight running and rotate the ring to the maximum mode, so you can near-instantaneously access the max output in moment's notice.

This is actually the UI of my new Nitecore MT-26. However -- I would like to see if there is something much better than twisting the head. Also -- it would preclude a tactical weakhand hold to activate the Turbo. Personally, Klarus' dedicated strobe function button has better tactical value.

I understand...you want a dedicated turbo switch/button, and from a tactical standpoint, would indeed be more certain to function correctly. But, the technique I described can easily be done with either hand and with any number of handholds...without the need for two hands.

The UI on my UB3T is the reason why I got it. The MaxBlast feature.

Output via selectable ring, with a light push of the button. But if you push the tac switch all the way it jumps to Max. Let it go slightly it will return to whatever output you have selected.

Twist the tailcap slightly for constant on at your selected output, twist further to jump to constant on at Max.

This two-stage tactical tailcap is also found on the LX2 and the new EB1.
