I got some li-ion CR2032 from batt junction and when i got done charging them, i put them all in a 4x AA plastic battery case......big mistake. about half of them short-circuited and are useless now. how do i store these things?
If they are the same form factor as primary cr2032 cells they will fit perfectly in the cheap plastic tubes with screw tops that coin dealers sell to collectors for nickels. I've been storing primary cr2032s and cr2016s in them for years with no problems. They are perfect for my needs. Each one holds a roll of nickels.
If you want something to hold just a few coin cells, bring a nickel to a big drug store and look at all of the stubbier glass and plastic bottles that hold the various lip balms -- there's a good chance you'll find something that will work. There is a wide variety of these bottles and they are inexpensive -- I use them for a few things. (Great for silicone lube :D )
You may also be able to find plastic cigar tubes of the right diameter for coin cells. They are air tight and some may be cut to any desired length and the friction fit cap or plug will still be just as tight as when uncut. Many who buy cigars light one up before they leave the store -- just go into one and ask the clerk if there are any empty tubes in the trash. I use different diameters of cigar tubes shortened to custom lengths to protect fine tools and a few other things. I actually have one plastic tube that I cut off over thirty five years ago and it still protects it's contents.
