I know that other threads have mentioned how to dismantle this light but since I had to do it to mine anyways I thought I'd share my experiences.
Ever since I got my A3 it has been flickering and randomly cutting out, before finally staying dark for good. I decided to take apart the head and it turned out the red wire had been lose and ifnally broken off from one of the soldering points entirely.
When I did to get mine open was to unscrew the driver piece using brute force, not the "tighten then loosen" method. I used a couple of microbits with very thin tips (smallest hex and smallest flathead) and clamped them in a vise to create a dual pointed tool that would fit the two holes in the driver part. You have to use a lot of force to unscrew the first few rounds as there is some thermal paste or something on the threads.
I then had to remove the black plastic piece that centers the emitter to get to the wires and solder i back on. I don't know if other peopl ehave had the same issue but if so, it's probably the same problem.
