Hello,

I am new to the forum and this is my first post, I have been reading up a fair amount from you guys here and its all very helpful. After doing a search I could not find the answer to my question.

I ordered this light :- http://www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/jetbeam-jet-iii-pro-st-standard.html

Now today I open the box click the switch and on comes my light.. oh strange I didnt think I would get free batteries. I look inside and there are 2 X cr123A 1500mah 3v batteries. Also after reading up the circuit should not be used with these batteries!? As it is not the broad circuit version its supposd to be the standard version! So is it right they they still work? As it did work! Will this have caused damage to my light? Should it have come with batteries?

Also to my suprise I found that the 3 settings came in A bright, B medium and C low. According to write ups and reviews it should come in A bright, B low, C strobe. So does this mean someone has used my light before? Maybe this is why it has CR123 Batteries in it?

Finally to top it all off i am missing 2 o-rings! I have the lanyard, spare switch, spare switch cap, instruction manual and a UNSTAMPED OR DATED warrnty card.

Is there a difference between the broad circuit and standard circuit lights is the way it looks so I could tell if they have sent me a broadcircuit rather then a standard with the wrong batteries?

Must say I have been very excited to recieve this light and its ruined my evening now as cant really use it incase its damaged and they wont take it back. Which made me paying extra for next day delivery a waste as I now cant use it this weekend (reason I brought it).

Sorry for a huge long post, thanks for reading.

Thanks
Jamie

Hi, Jamie. I have been hunting for the standard, non-BVC version of this light for some weeks now, with no success. It seems like there are a few websites out there selling this product under the original, 1x18650 designation, when they are in fact shipping the BVC iteration. I can understand how frustrating this feels, as I was about to purchase this light from such an online shop, only to find out that it was the BVC version.

The fact it shipped with two CR123A batteries and did not fry upon powering it up suggests strongly that it is the BVC version. I would get in touch with the store you purchased it from and ask them to verify beyond a shadow of a doubt which version they sold you. If you were misled, even if by accident, I think they should cover the return shipping and your initial shipping, since they sold you a product other than what you were led to believe, by their description, was the article for sale.

For future reference, this query would probably fit best in our LED Flashlights department.

:)

Hope this helps.

Sorry for putting it in the wrong place, if any mod has the time to move it that would be great :)

Thank you for your reply. Your post has put my mind at ease a little but as you said I think i need to confirm with them. It's a very cool little light but after parting with £50 I want it to last more than 5 minutes. If they are unsure I think I am going to ask for a refund and take my business to flashaholics! Still got the problem of no torch for this weekend though sigh :(

Any ways thanks again.

Jamie :)

Congrats on acquiring wonderful light !

Jet3pro ST BVC is really great.

And the factory default setting of brightness don't really matter, cause you can re-program it the way you want very easy.

Which LED does it have - Q5 or R2?

If they sent you a BVC by accident, you have the better torch. If they sent you a BVC R2 then you have done well for £50!

Ledfiretorches check each light before shipping and put batteries in, so don't worry about that.

If they have sent you a non-BVC and put two CR123's and it goes :poof: this weekend whilst you are using it - send it back for an exchange. That is their fault. Either way don't worry and enjoy the ST, it is a quality light.

I do like it a lot. But I have barley touched it as didn't want to use/damage it as I need to ask them why the lanyard is broken and I am missing 2 o-rings. I paid for a new unused light. Now I think someone has had a play with this one for a while, long enough to crack the lanyard clip and loose 2 o-rings. Depending on what they say when they phone up I may go for the r2 version as I very much like the size of the light.

Thanks for all your replys :)

Jamie

Another question I have to ask is which would be the best 18650 battery for this. Can I get the flat top battery for it? Will a 2900 mah aw battery be lots brighter than my cytac 2400mah battery?
Oh an I have the q5 edition :)

Thanks again

Jamie
